Ellerni PL

Terms of service

Applies to the Ellerni Android app (pl.ellerni.app) and the ellerni.app website.

Version of 8 September 2026

Who provides the service

Ellerni is run by Aleksander Rasek Software Engineer, a sole proprietorship registered in Poland, {{JDG_ADRES}}, tax ID (NIP) {{JDG_NIP}}.

Contact: {{KONTAKT_EMAIL}}.

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not create an account.

What Ellerni is

You photograph your own notes. Ellerni builds questions from them, grades your answers and reminds you to review before you forget.

The service works over the internet. You need a phone running Android 7.0 or newer and a network connection.

Ellerni is a study tool. It is not a textbook, a tutor or a school.

Who can use it

An account can be created by a person aged 16 or over — in Poland that is the age from which you can agree to a digital service on your own.

If you state an age of 13–15, we send one message to the guardian address you give, and sign-up ends there. No account is created.

We do not accept an age below 13.

Account and password

One e-mail address means one account. Use an address you can actually read — without confirming it, the account gets no tokens and you cannot scan a single page.

The password is yours. Do not give it to anyone. If you suspect someone knows it, change it and write to us.

You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Tokens, the starting batch and payments

One token is one scanned page. Tokens are a unit of usage, not money: they cannot be exchanged for cash or moved outside Ellerni.

Once you confirm your e-mail address you receive 50 tokens, one time. The batch is granted once per account and does not renew monthly.

Release 1.0 has no payments. We do not sell tokens, there is no subscription, we charge nothing and we never ask for card details. Using Ellerni is free of charge.

You can share tokens with another person through a gift code. The tokens leave your wallet when the code is created; a code not claimed within 30 days returns to you.

Coming later: token packs will appear in a future update and will be sold exclusively through Google Play. Before that happens we will add a separate section on prices, payment, refunds and complaints to these terms, and tell you about the change before it takes effect.

Your notes and questions

The notes you photograph and the questions built from them are yours. We do not become their owner.

You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence limited to what the service needs: storing the photo, sending it to the language model, building questions, and showing them to you and to the people you choose to share with. The licence covers nothing else and ends when the content or the account is deleted.

We do not use your notes to train models and we do not show them to other users unless you decide to share them.

Content produced by artificial intelligence

Questions, explanations, question variants and answer grading are produced by a language model. They can be wrong.

Check them and treat them as study help, not as a source of truth. In a test what counts is your teacher's material, not our question.

You can edit or reject any question. If the grading is unfair, one tap says “I did know that” and the question counts as passed.

The model builds questions only from the material you uploaded — it does not add facts from outside your page.

Sharing with other people

Friends

You add them with an invite code, valid for 7 days and usable once. A friend sees your display name, never your e-mail address.

Sets visible to friends

You can make a set visible to your friends and turn that off at any time.

Public link

You can share a set of questions by link. Anyone who knows the address can then see it, including people without an account. You can revoke the link; once revoked it stops working for good.

Page transfers

You can send page photos to at most three friends at a time. They disappear after 48 hours, or sooner once everyone has downloaded them. There is no “forward”.

You share at your own responsibility. Before you send someone else's page to anyone, ask its owner.

What is not allowed

Limits

Limits protect the service from abuse and us from a bill that cannot be paid. As of today:

When an AI limit runs out, studying continues — you lose convenience, not access. We may change the limits; if a change is to your disadvantage we say so in the app.

Reporting content and moderation

Ellerni stores user content and some of it is visible at a public address. That is why we run a reporting channel compliant with the Digital Services Act (EU Regulation 2022/2065).

Point of contact

For users, Member State authorities, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services: {{KONTAKT_EMAIL}}. We correspond in Polish and in English.

How to report content

We always accept a report, even when the link has already been revoked or the transfer has expired.

How we handle it

We have no automated moderation. Every report is read by a human — the administrator of the service. Decisions are taken without algorithms and without automatic takedowns.

Possible outcomes: no action, removal of the content, cutting off the share, a warning to the author, blocking the author's account.

If you leave a contact address, we will tell you what we did and why. A report through the public form is anonymous — without a contact we have no way to answer.

The author of content we acted on is told about the decision and its reason.

Appeal

Do you disagree with our decision, as the reporter or as the author? Write to {{KONTAKT_EMAIL}} and we will look at the case again. You may also use out-of-court dispute resolution or go to court.

Blocking other people

You can block any friend. A block ends the friendship both ways, cancels active transfers from that person to you, and makes their invite to you stop working.

Unblocking does not restore the friendship — you have to add each other again.

A public link stays public: a block does not close it for anyone.

Suspending and closing an account on our side

We may block an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that threatens the operation of the service.

For a serious breach — unlawful content, harassment, an attack on the service — we block immediately. Otherwise we warn first.

We tell you about a block by e-mail, with the reason.

You can appeal by writing to {{KONTAKT_EMAIL}}.

Deleting your account yourself

In the app: “Me” → “Delete account”. Two steps, ending with typing the word DELETE.

Without the app: the form on the “Delete account” page.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Your sets, page photos, review progress, tokens and friendships all disappear.

What stays: tokens from a gift code someone already claimed (they are theirs), and content reports — unlinked from you.

You may stop using Ellerni at any time, without giving a reason and without notice.

Liability

We do our best to keep the service available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation or faultless questions. The service is provided as it is.

We are not liable for the consequences of decisions you take based on content produced by the model — a test grade, for example.

None of the above limits our liability for damage caused intentionally, or any liability that the law — including consumer law — does not allow to be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep every right given by the rules on supplying digital content and services.

Complaints

Send complaints to {{KONTAKT_EMAIL}}. Say what it is about and what you expect.

We answer within 14 days.

Withdrawal and disputes

The contract is concluded at a distance and Ellerni is a digital service. If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving a reason.

In practice, deleting your account in the app has the same effect and is immediate. You can also write to {{KONTAKT_EMAIL}}.

When paid token packs arrive, we will add rules on withdrawal for digital content supplied immediately — including consent to immediate performance and the loss of the right to withdraw.

You can take a dispute to out-of-court consumer dispute resolution; the list of authorised bodies in Poland is kept by the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (polubowne.uokik.gov.pl). A municipal or district consumer ombudsman also helps free of charge. None of this closes the way to a court.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when we change the service, when the law changes, or when payments arrive.

We announce a material change in the app or by e-mail at least 14 days in advance.

If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account — with no consequences and no charge.

The version date is at the bottom of this page.

Governing law

Polish law applies to this contract.

If you live in another European Union country, choosing Polish law does not deprive you of the protection given by the mandatory rules of your own country.

A dispute with a consumer is heard by the court determined under the rules on jurisdiction — usually the court of the consumer's place of residence.
